Year 2 learnt about the artist William Morris. The children explored the different pieces of art work he created and used his style to design wallpaper for their Titanic cabin. The children tried to include nature within their wall paper as well as symmetry and a repeating pattern.

Year 2 had a wonderful trip to the Titanic Museum in Southampton. As we took a tour around the museum, the children enjoyed searching for the answers to their questions. In the afternoon we took part in a workshop learning about what it was like to be on the Titanic.

The children in Year 2 explored different types of mechanisms, thinking about how the object moved and which part formed the mechanism. The children spent time making a lever, pop up and a slider. They then chose which one they wanted to include in their design. They had great fun making their christmas cards!

Year 2 had a great day learning about Ernest Shackleton and his expedition to the South Pole. The children got to fully immerse themselves in the event using props and music, each taking on the role of one of the crew.
